Kanye West helped out at the Los Angeles Mission the day after Christmas by assisting the volunteers and serving lunch to the homeless — he even sported an apron!
"It's just important [to give back] when you're very blessed," said Kanye, who was there with his girlfriend Amber Rose.
Adding, "[It's nice] to spread your blessings and take time out, especially during theholidays to appreciate people who never get that appreciation. It makes me feel really good to come out here, [with] my family, and I just thank y'all [the Los Angeles Mission] for allowing us to be a part of this."
Sweet!

Friend and Factory Girl director George Hickenlooper says that he was alarmed when he found out Brittany Murphy was planning to wed British screenwriter Simon Monjack and even warned the starlet about her soon-to-be husband!
"The last thing I told Brittany is: “Do you know this guy? I mean do you really know him? Do you know what you are doing by marrying him?" said Hickenlooper, who reportedly considered Murphy for the role of Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl over Sienna Miller.
Brittany then "became angry" with the director and claimed she knew Monjack "better than anyone" and hung up on Hickenlooper!
Yikes.
"A few months later I tried to phone her to see if she was alright," the director continued. "…Monjack would not let me speak to her."
The Factory Girl director has had his fair share of trouble with Simon Monjack, stating "Simon Monjack had nothing to do with Factory Girl," even though Murphy's husband has a credit for the film on IMDB!
"He filed a frivolous lawsuit against us. . . making bogus claims that we had stolen his script. He held us literally to hostage and we were forced to settle with him as he held our production over a barrel," he said.
Ridiculous!
Too bad the movie bombed!

Turns out Nic Cage isn't being sued for fraud - he's just being sued for $3 million!
Red Curb investments have sued the actor for the $3 mil in loans Cage has failed to pay them back, but won't be suing Nic for the additional reported $15 million for failing to disclose to the IRS he was in debt.
"Any claims that Nic Cage engaged in fraud or wrongful conduct is absurd and ridiculous," says Nicolas' lawyer, Marty Singer.
It's only too bad for Cage's mortgage broker and previous accountant - they're being sued for $3 mil by Red Curb as well!

| Tom Waits makes a great Satan in "Parnassus," but don't tell his mama |

Director Terry Gilliam's latest script called for a vaudevillian take on Satan, a Prince of Darkness in a pencil-thin moustache.
When Tom Waits agreed to step into the role for "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus," Gilliam was thrilled.
"If you're going to have a devil in your life, Tom is the man," he said.
Indeed, given Waits' technicolour performance in the film, it seems a role he was born to play - just don't say that to the woman who gave birth to him.
"Don't tell my mom," Waits told The Canadian Press earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival. "She's really upset. Pretty pissed off about the whole thing."
Why, exactly?

| Brittany Murphy's Husband Claims Being Victimized by Press |

Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack has accused the media of publishing unfair stories about him following his wife's tragic death - insisting the press is targeting him because he is not an attractive Hollywood star. Murphy passed away earlier this month, December 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home in Los Angeles.
Monjack is adamant many of the reports that have surfaced after Murphy's death have been unfairly negative, with some publications detailing his past financial problems and calling him a "conman." And the British screenwriter is convinced he is being victimized by the press because he doesn't compare to his wife's ex-boyfriend, actor Ashton Kutcher.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "I know I have been called a conman. I am not perfect. I never said I was. But there has been so much rubbish written about me and Brittany. Most of what you read is made up. My problem is that I do not look like Ashton Kutcher... Nor do they like the fact that she married someone who was not famous. (In Hollywood), stars like stars to marry other stars."
And Monjack has slammed reports which suggested his late wife was taking a dangerous cocktail of prescription drugs before her death, insisting most of the pill bottles which officials found in their home were old.
He adds, "I know what the inference is by all those pills. That she was some kind of addict, but addicts hide away their pills. They do not leave them on the nightstand like Brittany. Some of them were old and date back to when Brittany had some ailment or other. You know how people accumulate things and never throw them away."

1 Import Export (Ulrich Seidl) The most sorrowful movie of the year is also the best. The miserable lives of Ukrainian immigrants in Vienna make this agonizing but brilliantly directed opus the cinematic equivalent of slitting your wrists. A new genre? Depression porn? Hey, I got off.
2 Antichrist (Lars von Trier) If Ingmar Bergman had committed suicide, gone to hell, and come back to earth to direct an exploitation/art film for drive-ins, this is the movie he would have made
3 In the Loop (Armando Iannucci) A smart, mean, foulmouthed British satire about the struggle for global power that asks the all-important question: How do you debate the invasion of Iraq if your gums start to bleed in the middle of your presentation?
4 World’s Greatest Dad (Bobcat Goldthwait) Why, oh why, wasn’t this blackest of comedies a hit? Appallingly rude, decidedly family unfriendly, this autoerotic-suicide tale of a hateful son and his clueless father left the viewer gasping in surprise.
5 Brüno (Larry Charles) Don’t listen to the critics—it’s better than Borat. Imagine a hetero teen couple in a mall on a first date somewhere in Middle America watching Sacha Baron Cohen pantomime every known gay male sex act, ending in a joyous “facial.” Sometimes audiences get what they deserve.
6 Lorna’s Silence (Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne) How do these great art films get financed? European socialism, that’s how, and I’m glad the taxpayers abroad put up the dough for this Tracking Shots“R”Us masterpiece. Only the Dardenne brothers could get away with not showing the dramatic action that climaxes the whole movie. Just think if they had to test-screen this film in America!
7 Broken Embraces (Pedro Almodóvar) There was some grumbling from Cannes that this wasn’t one of Pedro’s best, but boy were those rumors wrong. It’s a beaut! A relentlessly intelligent melodrama filled with so many dizzying plot points that you’ll experience vertigo.
8 The Baader Meinhof Complex (Uli Edel) Now here were some kids who knew how to cause trouble! Hmmm...What should we do today? Stop the Olympics or blow up a commercial airplane? These radicals made the Weathermen look like pussies.
9 Whatever Works (Woody Allen) Gerontophilia never seemed so appealing. This time, Woody goes a little gay and lives to tell about it with lovely, comic success. I am so mad I don’t have this director’s career.
10 The Headless Woman (Lucrecia Martel) Bleached hair, hit-and-run accidents, in-laws with hepatitis? Huh? I didn’t get it, but I sure did love it!

I need your help. I've had my dreads for about a year and a half, and I'm just so discontent with them. The length is good, but I hate the color. I never leave them down anymore, I never feel right with them. I'm never satisfied with how they look. I'm seriously considering cutting them off.
However, if there was a way that I could do something new with them (aside from just dying them. I'm already considering that), I would.
Anyone have suggestions?

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is planning a trip to Guatemala for charity work after returning from a visit to India, said her mother Dina Lohan.
The actress flew to New Delhi earlier this month to shoot a BBC documentary about child poverty and human trafficking. The charity work “humbled and moved” former wild child Lohan so much that she is now working on taking her philanthropic efforts to Central America, with the help of TV titan Oprah Winfrey, according to WENN.
“Lindsay definitely wants to give more back. We are now planning a trip to help the children of Guatemala, which will be filmed by Oprah’s (TV) network,” said Dina.
